Research Funding

Over the past couple of years, we’ve worked with Senator Elizabeth Warren (D - Mass.) and Senator Orrin Hatch (R - Utah) to secure research funding from the Dept. of Defense (DOD) for the first time in history. The DOD has a CDMRP (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program) to pursue novel approaches to biomedical research that affects the American public, the military and Congress. As endometriosis affects all three of those population segments (directly or indirectly), it has been added to the program now for the first time in FY 2018.

We continue our work on Capitol Hill by partnering with Senator Warren and Senator Mitt Romney (R- Utah) in advocating for continued research funding from the DOD for FY 2020. See below the recent letter submitted to the Senate Appropriations Committee by both Senators in one of the only bi-partisan initiatives in the United States today.
